Local Area

Mazarron is located on the South Eastern corner of Spain, to the west of Cartagena. Travelling time to Mazarron is about 45 minutes from Murcia (San Javier) airport and is about 1 hour 30 minutes from Alicante airport. Mazarron boasts some of the best beaches in Spain with also a wonderful climate. The area is relatively undeveloped when compared to the more popular Spanish Costas and as such provides an excellent location for a peaceful family holiday.

The coast town of Puerto de Mazarron is known as the Cornwall of Spain with its pretty coves and harbours and pedestrianised walkways. The coastline of Puerto has many kilometres of fine unspoilt sandy beaches with safe bathing. During the summer months, the water temperature in La Costa Calida rises to that of a warm bath so its the ideal place to master sports such as sailing, windsurfing, water and jet skiing as well as providing safe bathing for children.

The coastline to the south of La Manga, i.e Mazarron, is popular with Spanish holidaymakers and until recently stayed largely overlooked and undiscovered by foreign tourists. Nonetheless, the combination of low cost housing and year-round sunshine are now proving powerful magnets for international investments and many British ex-pats who have bought permanent or holiday homes here. However, since much of the area is a national park there are many building restrictions. Also the lack of large hotels means that this is not a resort, rather a typical Spanish town, frequented by the Spanish. This is the undiscovered Spain.
